COMPANY PROFILE

FARMAK, a.s., is a purely Czech chemical-pharmaceutical company focused on the development, production and marketing of products from two product groups: active pharmaceutical ingredients - medicinal substances and chemical intermediates and specialties. From a long-term perspective, the production and sale of active pharmaceutical ingredients plays a key role in the company's performance. The company is significantly export-oriented, where the EU, USA, India, Japan and Latin America are the most significant export territories. The development of procedures, that are used in the production of products sold not only on the Czech market, but especially on foreign markets is the priority.

PRODUCTS & SERVICES

• The key product are medicinal substances, specifically active pharmaceutical substances belonging to the group of generics, i.e. medicinal substances which are out of the original patent protection. They contribute up to 95 percent of the company's total turnover.
• Contract manufacturing is focused mainly on the chemistry of heterocyclic compounds using common types of reactions (including Grignard reactions) in production facilities meeting the criteria for good manufacturing practice. Production is carried out in enamelled and stainless steel reactors with a volume up to 6300 liters, in auxiliary production equipment, on centrifuges, in dryers and on drying filters. The conclusion of production consists of sieving, grinding, or alternatively of micronization and packaging. Production devices are subordinate to SÚKL inspection and some to FDA audits.
