NANOPROTECT | Innovative nanofibrous materials research for personal protective equipment

The project is focused on research of polymer nanofiber composite structures prepared by the world's unique method of AC electrospinning with application potential in personal protection environments.
The project aim at two areas of application - respirators and filters for masks. As part of the project, linear and planar nanofibrous structures will be exploring and further optimized, with the aim of achieving maximum efficiency in the capture of biological agents, especially bacteria and viruses, while maintaining a high level of user comfort. For this purpose, both the unique properties of the nanostructures themselves, as well as their further functionalization using photocatalytic systems, or the incorporation of other active substances will be utilized.
